It's straight forward to update from Agent Focused 1.0 to Agent Focused 2.0.
Update WordPress, Genesis, Plugins, if needed
- Make a backup of your website. You can do this in WP Engine admin panel, if you use their hosting.
- If you see that updates are needed:
Update WordPress to the latest version.
Update Genesis to the latest version.
Update all plugins to the latest version. - Make another backup of your website or a restore point, if you're using WP Engine.
You will want the backup, in case you want to restore your website to what it was before you update. - If you use Cloudflare, put it in Development mode.
Make Notes on Customizer and Widget Placement
- You may want to look at your customizations under Appearance > Customize. If you only have customizations in the WordPress customizer, you should be able to update easily.
- Note which image you use for Background Image, as you will need to add it back. You will want to download to be sure that you have a copy of it.
- Make note of the Color Scheme you use; you will need to select colors individually in the updated theme.There is a list of colors to use in the section on colors.
- Note any CSS added under Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS. You will want to copy this CSS.
- Go to Appearance > Widgets. Note your widget placement, although all your widgets should stay in place.
Did You Customize Theme Files?
- If your theme was customized with changes the theme files, such as style.css or functions.php, then you will need to consider if you even want to update the theme. It's not necessary.
- You will want to use your hosting File Manager or FTP to download a copy of your current theme files.
- If you decide to update and you want to keep your changes, you will want to do a file comparison and copy any file changes you made to the new theme before you update or after you update.
- You can also choose to update, if you don't mind losing your file changes.
Update Winning Agent 1.0 to Winning Agent Pro 2.0
- Download the Winning Agent theme from the Purchase receipt we resent.
- In WordPress, go to Appearance > Themes
- Click the Add New button - at the top
- Click the Upload Theme button - at the top
- Click the Choose File button and look for the theme file on your computer - winning-agent-pro-2.0.0.zip
- Click Install Now button
- You will get a screen with a button Replace Current with Uploaded - Click it
Note that your theme versions shown may be 1.0.6. That's OK
Do NOT Click a Starter Pack
Please do NOT click one of the starter packs. Your website is already set up with your own content.
Clicking a starter pack will move all your current front page widgets to the Inactive Widget area under Appearance > Widgets.If do you accidentally click a Starter pack, it won’t delete any content or widgets; you will just need to drag the widgets back into place. And you will need to deleted the demo content that is added.

What to Check After the Update
You may not need much of this, but it's good to check it.
- Go to your home page and do a hard refresh in your browser.
- Check to see if your Background Image is still there; it shouldn't be.
- So go to Appearance > Customize > Background Image.
- You may see your image as being there
- Go ahead and choose the image from your Media Library again.
- Click the blue Publish button.
- Change your colors; you can use colors from the original color schemes.
- Add your logo.
- Fix the menu.
- Go to Appearance > Widgets > Header Right widget area. Note which Menu, you're using there.
- Remove the Navigation Menu widget. Keep the Simple Social Icons widget.
- Go to Appearance > Menus.
- Click on the Manage Locations tab.
- For Primary Menu, select the menu you were using in the Navigation Menu widget.
- You should also have a menu selected for Secondary Menu. You do not need to use the Extra Menu location.
- Click the blue Save Changes button.
- If you use the AgentPress - Listing Search in your Search Bar, you will leave it as it is.
- Change the IDX Broker QuickSearch in the Search Bar to the IMPress Omnibar Search.
- If you have an IDX Broker QuickSearch in your Search Bar, you will want to change to the IMPress Omnibar Search, as it's more user friendly and offers more search opportunities.

- To use the IMPress Omnibar Search:
- Go to Appearance > Widgets > Search Bar.
- Drag the IMPress Omnibar Search widget into the Search Bar widget area. Add settings from this tutorial section.
